I’m just home from yet another concert, (I’m pleased to say I am getting to a good few this year) so as is rapidly becoming the tradition there is only a brief post from me tonight as it is very late and I need to sleep on what I’ve heard before writing the music up for you tomorrow. Three very good sets though, all of them piano/saxophone duos, coming from the French combination of Frederic Blondy and Bertrand Gauget, the English / German pairing of Seymour Wright and Sebastian Lexer and the very English duo of John Butcher and John Tilbury. Actually some of the sets very really very good indeed. You’re going to have to wait until tomorrow to find out which though… I have a day off tomorrow and so will inevitably spend the day trying to tie up Cathnor work but should be able to write up tonight’s concert nice and early, and maybe get a further post in later in the day to make up for tonight’s shoddy excuse. Just a quick note here now though to say how well attended the performances were tonight, maybe around seventy or eighty people at a gig on a Monday night at a difficult (for me at least) to get to venue. Until tomorrow then.
