24 June 2009 No Comment

An exhausting day today. Its 1AM and I only got in from work half an hour ago, so please excuse the brief post tonight. One piece of good news (for me anyway) is that I have managed to manufacture myself a holiday from work next week so I can catch up on most things I am behind on, including making a dent in the unlistened to music here. I also aim to get to a few gigs this coming weekend, the latest installment of Mark Wastell’s The Seen project on Friday, then a performance by Tetsuya Umeda at Café Oto with Benedict Drew helping out, and, now that I have next week off I will also be able to attend one of the Workshop Concert Series gigs, which being on a Monday,  a difficult day for me at work every week, I have never been able to make it along to before.

So anyway today I have actually been listening a lot to one album in particular, and a very fine album too, the second release by the Berlin improv supergroup Phosphor recently released on Potlatch. I have so far only been able to listen while walking or sat on a train however, so I haven’t taken in enough to be able to write anything sensible about the CD. i do know for sure though that its yet another good one. So far 2009 has produced some excellent albums, and there is potential there for a few more again to be hidden amongst the pile of discs sat beside me now.

While I am waffling about nothing important its nice to note that the hit counter over there on the right topped the 40,000 mark overnight, which is an impressive total in my book. Thanks once agin to everyone that checks in here every day, it is most appreciated. Now I just want to drain the last drops of this glass of Scotch and fall into bed. A better post tomorrow I promise, maybe even in the morning.
