Tonight I am going to have to dodge writing a full review again because I have other writing commitments to get completed in time for a deadline tomorrow and I only got in from work twenty minutes back. There isn’t a great rush, I have done most of the work, but I’m just not capable of thinking in depth about two CDs at the same time. Does anyone actually read blogs about experimental music at this idiotic time of the year anyway though? Aren’t we all charging about like complete fools at the behest of captitalism trying to get ready for one ridiculous holiday or another? Do we have time for music at this time of the year? What is more important, remembering the brussels sprouts or listening to the latest offering from Toshi Nakamura? One thing is for sure people don’t send emails at this time of the year. usually I get about twenty a day, but today only three. There is one blessing tot hank Santa for anyway.

Today it snowed here, quite heavily, making trudging home a visually beautiful but precarious undertaking. Walking home I was listening to some music though, the music I am to go and write about in a minute or two, and its odd how I could suddenly hear wintry soundscapes in the music that earlier sounded like more brittle drones. Maybe I will write something in the morning to make up for these brief posts of late, but fear not, get Christmas out of the way and I have plenty of new ideas and directions for this website to take. Just three more days to go. I am counting every hour.

Unintentional (I assume?) neologism of the year – I think ‘captitalism’ sums it up rather nicely!

Ha! Fantastic! I wish I could say that one was deliberate but no it wasn’t. ;)

Of course we do, don’t we, Dom?

“Aren’t we all charging about like complete fools at the behest of captitalism trying to get ready for one ridiculous holiday or another?”

No. I’m a paid up member of the Commutit Party.

No Input Brussel Sprout (NIBS) wins every time at Christmas.

“Do we have time for music at this time of the year?”

Yes; especially early religious choral music.

“There is one blessing tot hank Santa for anyway.”

Ah, Tot Hank Santa – my favourite band, and one of my favourite CD’s of the year.
