angharadWell I did warn you… I got home at a quarter to one tonight, or rather this morning, after starting work over twelve hours ago. Only two more days of this to go now, and I think I’ve got the worst of the workload out of the way, but it does mean I have nothing useful to write about music again tonight. I did listen to some music today, a rather nice album that came out late last year on the Creative Sources label by the Nortewgian duo of Daniel Meyer Grønvold and Håvard Volden, a CD I have had here for the best part of six months, but only this last week after seeing Volden play live in London have I got around to listening to it. Its a good listen, and I’ll write about it just as soon as I am able. Tonight I don’t have the energy I’m afraid.

So as I now have to plug something by a friend, I will mention a few concerts next week that I hope to attend. Details of all can be found in the (slightly malfunctioning) Concert Calendar above, but this week you can catch the trio of Dom Lash, John Butcher and John Russell live in various cities around the UK, and then next week on Tuesday there is a nice looking gig taking place at Cafe Oto in London that has been arranged at quite short notice. Tisha Mukarji is makign another visit to these Isles, and will play in a trio with Angharad Davies (pictured) and Mark Wastell (not pictured) in a trio, with Daichi Yoshikawa and Tom James Scott each playing solo sets in support. Then of course on the following two days Ryu Hankil will be playing, first in london at oto on the 17th, and then in Brighton on the 18th at a gig that also includes Jez riley French, Loris, Slow Listener and Paul Khimasia Morgan. If everything goes completely to plan (it usually doesn’t!) then I hope to get to all of these concerts. If I make it then expect less CD reviews and more live reports next week!
