Just home tonight from a rather great concert in London at the impressive V22 space in South London. This was the first time I had been able to get there, despite there being several concerts that have taken place there of late I would have loved to have attended had I been able. The venue is a massive brick room, probably about eighty metres square with high walls, an old biscuit factory none the less. The acoustic in the place is predictably amazing. Listening to two solo saxophonists in there tonight even the slightest flick of a tongue over a reed crashed around the massive space of several seconds before dying away. I will write something about the event tomorrow night, but for now I am tired, but really must mention the Soundfjord people that are hosting concerts at V22 right now, and are also running a great little temporary CD shop in the building that I can wholeheartedly recommend to anyone visiting London in the next month. never before have so many CDs, tapes, vinyl etc been in one place and look so good together. The room is as much a gallery as a shop. Do visit if you can, these people deserve the support. Better post tomorrow then, the photo is from tonight, John Butcher in full flow.
