Friday 16th April

At the end of my first week in my new role I feel pretty tired, so I am pleased to be off this weekend. Tomorrow night I will be attending this concert in London, say hello if you are there. Tonight I have a plate of very nicely made macaroni cheese and a particularly good chablis to relax with, and I’m probably not in the mood to think too hard about music, but here’s a post anyway! Because of my state of mind I chose the new CD by Taku Sugimoto and Moe Kamura to write about tonight. This CD, named Saritote II, the second in a series, is just a fraction over ten minutes long and contains nine very short little songs, so light listening really, just what I need this evening.

Tuesday 2nd February

Normal service resumed here now then. The internet reappeared some time over night, so when I got home at seven this morning all was working again. As you can imagine, after a fifteen hour overnight shift at work with no sleep I fells traight into bed this morning, but it took a little time for the adrenalin to seep away, and I listened for a while before falling asleep to a new Taku Sugimoto composition just released on his own Slubmusic Tengu label. This new piece is named 13-14 for Guitars, and actually makes great music to help you relax and slip off to sleep. That isn’t so much a criticism though, the thirty-four minute piece for two guitars played here by Sugimoto himself alongside Tetuzi Akiyama has a particularly lulling, meditative shape to it. As I have listened to the CD through the day I have constantly found myself somewhat relaxed and lackadaisical.
